Blog Post #3

In the article, I Want a Wife by Judy Brady (Brady 360)  the author makes it sound like women are entitled to their husbands. That a women must be the perfect stereotypical house wife. She must tend to her husbands every need, and fulfill every household duty without a complaint. The author is saying a wife should put her husbands needs before her own, even if that means taking the kids and moving to another home because he has found a new more suitable wife. The author's purpose of writing this article is to show that wives do a lot for their families, but they should not have unrealistic expectations. No body should expect one partner to pull all the weight.

In the second article, Men - It's in Their Nature by Christina Sommers the author is saying that boys behaving like boys is not a bad thing. There has been scientific research and studies done proving that you can't change the ways boys act. Gender equality experts are trying to force boys and girls to act the same, when they are not in most cases. Instead of trying to free boys from male stereotypes, people should start empowering healthy masculinity! Like to build not destroy or to channel aggression into sports.(Sommers

I am going to do my analysis essay on Men - Its in Their Nature. I think it will be interesting to look into what other activities gender equality experts are trying to force in schools. And more about the research done proving boys and girls for the most part are not the same.

  1. Hi Monica,
I believe that the assignment was to summarize both articles and choose one for our second essay, and state why we chose it.

    1. I know! I wasn't finished writing my summaries. Something else needed my attention.

  2. Monica, both summaries are good and thorough. I also like the angle you will take for the analysis. Will you incorporate an outside source as more evidence or support for your claims?

  3. Great post, Monica. I agree with using the second article for an analysis essay. It seems like the topic would be easier to analyze.
